1000 Paws Walk for The SPCA – Sunday 30 June, 9am – 3pm, Hilton College

It’s pretty safe to say that Baby Bird is a dog person like her mama…

She has a small vocabulary at the moment which includes the words Woof Woof – a name my mom uses to refer to her two giant black poodles (NOT French poodles – pet peeve – there is no such thing, standard poodles are actually German in origin and they are water retrievers, believe it or not!)

Addi’s version of Woof Woof sounds more like ‘Woo-Woo’ and every time she hears a dog, she makes this noise and gets super excited! This Sunday is going to be her personal version of heaven because we are going along to the 1000 Paws Walk for The SPCA at Hilton College, 9am – 3pm.

We won’t be taking the Woof Woofs along because they are gigantic (Rupert clocks in at 35kg and Sophie at about 25kgs!) and very strong (we’d probably need about 4 people just to control them with all the other dogs around!) but we are still going along to do the walking course and ‘dog watch’ of course.

If you are in the area and partial to spending time with four-legged friends of all varieties, come along and support the SPCA and the amazing work they do all over SA – a very worthy cause and a fun day out!

  1. Pascale says:

Rupert is too cute. I grew up with a massive standard poodle as a pet and he was such a darling pet (although far too strong and stubborn to take with us everywhere)

Thanks Pascale – aren’t they lovely – Rupert and Sophie’s predecessor, Rufus, was my “child” and best friend growing up, I still miss him. Such clever things!
